SEVEN SPRINGS — The matchup between the Spring Creek Lady Gators and the Kinston Lady Vikings opened with immediate intensity, as both teams wasted no time getting their offenses going.
Kinston struck first, with No. 4 Kayleigh Quinerly leading off with a base hit, followed by another hit from No. 3 Tanija Sutton to quickly put runners on base. Although the Lady Gators’ No. 6 Nicole Jackson recorded a key strikeout, the Vikings stayed aggressive at the plate. Walks and a hit-by-pitch allowed Kinston to load the bases and capitalize, bringing in multiple runs. A miscommunication by Spring Creek further helped the Vikings extend their lead, including a steal at home plate. By the time the inning settled, Kinston had surged ahead 5–0.
However, Spring Creek answered in emphatic fashion. No. 7 Kylie Conpropst sparked the rally with a powerful hit to reach second base, and No. 14 Leah Witmire followed with a shot to center field to drive in the Gators’ first run. The momentum only built from there. Hits from No. 12 and No. 2 Avery Walker brought in multiple runners, while No. 20 Alaina Pratt added another RBI with a deep hit to left field.
By the end of a chaotic first inning, the Lady Gators had completely flipped the game, taking a commanding 12–8 lead.
Pitching and Defense Begin to Settle In
In the second inning, Spring Creek’s No. 6 Nicole Jackson found her rhythm in the circle, striking out two Viking batters and helping to stabilize the defense. Despite allowing a walk that eventually led to a Kinston run, the Gators limited further damage and regained control.
Defensively, both teams showed flashes of strong play. A standout moment came when Kinston’s No. 10 Madison Green made a great catch and tag to stop a Gators scoring opportunity. Still, Spring Creek’s offense continued to apply pressure.

Spring Creek’s bats remained red-hot in the second inning. A string of hits from No. Kylie Conpropst, No. 14 Leah Witmire, and No. 2 Avery Walker once again loaded the bases and brought in runs. Kinston continued to battle in the third inning, getting runners on base through walks and hit-by-pitches. A steal allowed No. 6 Isabel Flores to score, but the Gators’ defense held firm to prevent a larger rally.
When Spring Creek returned to the plate, they quickly sealed the game. A key hit from the next Lady Gators drove in another run, and continued discipline at the plate led to multiple walks. With runners consistently advancing, the Gators pushed their total to 25 runs. Ending the game after the third inning.
