DUDLEY — Southern Wayne advanced to the Quad County 3A girls’ basketball tournament championship with a 56-45 triumph over Hunt on Wednesday evening.

The second-seeded Saints (17-7 overall) travel to regular-season champ Wilson Fike on Friday. Tip-off is 6 p.m.

Nygeria Thompson pumped in a game-high 21 points and snared eight rebounds. Nevaeh Hines-Bass provided 15 points and five steals. Ta’Niyah Glaspie flirted with a double-double – 17 rebounds and nine points.

Jamaiya Bass contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
