CALYPSO — The North Duplin Lady Rebels put on an impressive performance, controlling the game from the opening tip and never looking back in a decisive win over the Union Lady Spartans.

First Quarter: Rebels Strike First

The Lady Rebels wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, striking first with a basket from No. 32 Abigeal Brown. Union quickly answered with a layup, but North Duplin responded with confidence and precision. A jump shot by No. 10 Maggie Brown and a follow-up basket from No. 11 Lilly Fulghum helped the Rebels build early momentum.

Union called a timeout hoping to slow the surge, but the Rebels stayed locked in. No. 3 Abby Rose came out of the break with a strong layup, followed by another jump shot from No. 12 Reagan Herring. Despite Union cutting into the lead with a layup and converting free throws after being fouled, North Duplin continued to control the pace.

Union opened the second quarter with renewed energy, scoring first and forcing a Rebel timeout after drawing fouls and getting to the line. North Duplin struggled briefly to find its rhythm offensively, while Union looked to mount a comeback.

That drought ended when No. 3 Abby Rose finished a layup to settle the Rebels. Union answered with a free throw, but No. 32 Abigeal Brown drove down the floor for another basket. As time expired in the half, No. 32 Abigeal Brown drilled a clutch three-pointer at the buzzer, sending the Rebels into halftime with a 33–12 advantage.

No. 11 Lilly Fulghum added to the Rebels’ lead, while Union briefly sparked momentum with a basket, a steal, and another score. A three-pointer from the Lady Spartans showed fight, but North Duplin remained firmly in control.

At the timeout, the score stood at 51–21, with the Rebels maintaining dominance through the end of the third quarter.
