Lola Vitishie Wallace, 94, of 2519 Tram Road, Mount Olive, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Goldsboro Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s Care after an extended illness.

She was the daughter of the late Chesley and Monnie King of Holly Ridge, N.C. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leland Wallace; sisters Matoaka King Westbrook and Virginia King Gurganus; and brothers Velinzer King and E.C. King.

A lifetime member of Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church, she was also a Sunday school teacher, choir member and pianist at the church.

She was a wife and homemaker and an avid gardener. For many years, she worked with James Sprunt Community College’s Continuing Education Program, teaching ceramics.

Tish, as she was most lovingly referred to, is survived by two daughters, Gloria Edwards of Clinton and Cathy Wallace Crumpler and husband the Rev. Joe Crumpler of Mount Olive; a grandchild, Sarah Crumpler of Mount Olive, several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Pink Hill Funeral Home, 1056 Hwy. 11, Pink Hill, with the Rev. George Westbrook and the Rev. David Charles Hansley officiating. Burial will be at Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Joe Crumpler and the Rev. Mark Hobbs officiating there.

Visitation will be at the home, 2519 Tram Road, Mount Olive.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leland Jackson Wallace and Vitishie King Wallace Endowed Scholarship at the University of Mount Olive.
