GOLDSBORO — Junior Miguel Campuzano registered a hat trick (three goals) during Southern Wayne’s 6-0, non-conference romp over Goldsboro Tuesday evening.

Brian Hernandez, Skerverson Aphael and Joey Segura collected one goal apiece.

Senior Daniel Morales dished out two assists. Angel Ramirez, Cesar Espinoza, Daniel Velasquez and Ivan Alvarado each logged one assist.

Segura played 60 minutes between the pipes and picked up four saves. Aphael had two saves in 20 minutes.

The Saints (3-0-0 overall) travel to Northern Nash on Thursday. Kickoff is 6 p.m.

Blue Devils knock off Rebels

DEEP RUN — Crismy Gonzalez-Vazquez converted a penalty kick during North Duplin’s 6-1, non-conference loss to South Lenoir on Tuesday evening.

Rebels goalie Isaias Santos Santander stayed busy in the net and recorded 16 saves.

Junior Ulises Carrizales tallied four goals and one assist for the Blue Devils, members of the East Central 2A Conference.

North Duplin (1-1-0 overall) concludes its season-opening, three-game road swing Monday at Farmville Central.

Tigers blank Gators

SEVEN SPRINGS — James Kenan scored in the opening half and its defense protected the goal during its 1-0, non-conference conquest of Spring Creek on Tuesday evening.

The Gators (1-1-0 overall) return to action Friday against North Raleigh Christian Academy in the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association Kick-off Classic at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
