BEAR GRASS — North Duplin’s varsity girls and JV boys each remained unbeaten on the road this season after decisive, double-digit triumphs over Bear Grass Charter on Thursday evening.
Reece Outlaw returned to the lineup and poured in 25 points to help lead the Rebels past the Bears, 65-40, in girls’ action. It was North Duplin’s fourth road win.
The JV boys logged their fifth road triumph with a 44-33 win.
North’s varsity boys fell 59-54.

Girls
The Rebels and Bears combined for 58 fouls that led to an eye-popping 86 free throw attempts. North converted 30 of 49 tries, compared to a paltry 9 of 37 effort from Bear Grass.
Outlaw picked the Bears for five steals and dished out two assists.
Addy Higginbotham provided 20 points, three assists and six steals. Lilly Fulghum stuffed her stat sheet with six points and a season-high nine rebounds.
Tateyawna Faison supplied 12 points and seven rebounds.
North Duplin (10-1 overall) returns home today for a pivotal contest against Carolina 1A rival Lakewood. The Rebels won three of four meetings last season, including an opening-round playoff win.
