KINSTON — Ta’Niyah Glaspie posted a double-double — 14 points, 10 rebounds — during Southern Wayne’s opening-day, 59-32 romp over Kinston in the second annual Greater Neuse FCA Winter Classic on Wednesday evening.
The Saints’ girls basketball team (6-2 overall) continues Red Pool play today against four-time defending eastern 2A champion Farmville Central. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. at Lenoir Community College.

Nevaeh Hines-Bass stuffed her stat sheet with 12 points, two assists and six steals. Elaina Lane contributed eight points, three assists and three steals. Senior Jamaiya Bass logged six points and six rebounds.
SW improved to 7-5 against Kinston since 2007.
