SEVEN SPINGS—Hundreds of people lined the streets of Seven Springs, Wayne County’s oldest town, Saturday, Nov. 19, for the town’s Christmas Parade.

The weather was mild and, while the skies were clear of wintry weather, there were plenty of candy showers.

People participating in the parade were allowed to toss out sugary treats, and within minutes of the 3 p.m. start, the streets were covered with mounds of candy. Children and adults darted along the streets scooping up enough to fill bags.

The parade traditionally is the first of the Christmas season across Wayne County.

It will be followed by the town’s trim-a-tree ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Granddaughter’s Venue on Main Street. There will food, music and Santa; attendees can help decorate the community tree.

The event is open to the public.

Those attending can bring their own ornaments and personalize them. Some ornaments will be available at the event as well.

Enjoy the parade.
