GOLDSBORO - In planning for how school will look in the fall, Wayne County Public Schools is rolling out a number of surveys in the coming days to get parent and staff input.
The first survey that was made live is specific to remote instruction. Next week, two additional surveys will be released. The first will be a brief survey specific to physically attending school. The second is the annual bus-ridership survey for parents to complete so their child can be assigned to a bus route.
"Families are strongly encouraged to complete these short surveys so they can have a voice in district planning," said Tamera Berman Ishee, WCPS assistant superintendent for Teaching & Learning.
"We are working on three different plans for how school may look in the fall. Knowing parent concerns, as well as what works best for their children, will help guide the district in its planning."
All surveys will be posted on the district website at https://www.waynecountyschools.org/FallPlanningSurveys.aspx and on Facebook/Twitter at @WayneCountyPS. Surveys are also being translated into Spanish, French and Haitian Creole.
Additional promotion will occur while the surveys are live. Parents, teachers/staff, community members, and the local media are encouraged to share the survey links to help more WCPS parents become aware of the survey so that they can participate.
The district will also be surveying staff on additional topics to garner their input for fall planning.
