The University of Mount Olive men’s and women’s basketball teams play host to Conference Carolinas rival Erskine (S.C.) University during the 38th annual Church Night scheduled for Jan. 25.
The Trojan women tip off at 4 p.m.
“Church Night has become a tradition for UMO athletics, an annual event that we look forward to each year,” said Jeff Eisen, vice president for athletics at UMO. “It is a great way for us to be fulfilling the University mission of serving our founding church and communities.
“Tim Woodard and the admissions staff do a great job of promoting the event among the local churches and coordinating the various promotions throughout the games. We are appreciative of the support that they provide to make the event a success each year.”
Tickets for both games are $1 for those who attend with a church group. There will be a variety of halftime activities for people of all ages, and the church with the most people in attendance will be awarded a scholarship.
The Trojan men are 11-2 against Erskine since 2015. The Trojan women have won nine of 11 meetings against the Flying Fleet during that same stretch.
“We are looking forward to another great crowd this year,” Eisen said.
