The Wayne County Health Department received notice Friday of two additional deaths due to COVID-19.
The first individual passed away May 2 and was in their early 30s with underlying medical conditions. The second individual passed away May 7 and was in their late 60s with underlying medical conditions.
The current total of COVID-19 related deaths in Wayne County is 13.
North Carolina moved into Phase I of easing restrictions at 5 p.m. Friday. However, Governor Roy Cooper extended the "stay-at-home" order to May 22.
