In memory and thanks
The Cleveland Johnson family would like to thank each and every person who has shown love, support, prayers and played other parts in making the family comfortable after the passing of Cleveland Johnson. Thank you to Garris Funeral Home for providing a beautiful service.
Our prayers, sympathy and love are with the family of Judy Dianne West whose husband, Sam West, passed away at 6:18 Wednesday morning, July 31, at Kitty Askin Hospice in Goldsboro. As you know Dianne’s husband was bedridden for 12 years and what an amazing woman, wife and best friend she was for her husband. Sam is free and God has transitioned him with his new body, legs and everything.
J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home handled the arrangements for the West family. A homegoing celebration was held in Albany, New York, Tuesday afternoon.
Keep Dianne, of Dianne’s Boutique, and the entire family in your prayers. You can check on Dianne when she returns from New York. She sends her love to each and every one of you.
Bertha Greenfield, 66, died on Sunday, July 21, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. A homegoing celebration was held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Goldsboro’s St. Mark Church of Christ where Bishop Alton Smith officiated. Burial followed in the First Congregational Cemetery in Dudley.

Congratulations to Marlon Coley, a former Charger, who has returned to his alma mater Wayne Country Day School. Coley was hired as assistant athletics director and assistant basketball coach. Coley played high school basketball at Wayne Country Day from 2010 through 2014.
After graduation, he attended Campbell University. Two weeks after graduating from Campbell, the head of Country Day School, Todd Anderson, sat Coley down and told him the job was his if he wanted it. And Marlon jumped at the opportunity.
Coley is the son of Clara Coley and Marlon Coley Sr. He is the grandson of Theresa Ward Jackson and the late Shelton Jackson and the great grandson of mother Lila Bell Ward.
