Madison Sullivan joined the Bishop family today when she signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and soccer career at N.C. Wesleyan.
Madison Sullivan has made an impact since the day she stepped on the pitch as a Spring Creek soccer player. The senior striker is currently 13 goals away from being the leading goal scorer in school history as she is sitting with 51 goals throughout her career.
Each year, Sullivan has proved to be an ideal candidate to lead a squad as she finished with nine goals and 14 assists after her freshman year, but outdid herself when she jumped up to 20 goals her sophomore year. "She's got the skill to go along with her mentality and the way she leads others on the field," said coach Daniel Robinson. "She's been groomed for this for a while now, we're just a small part of it. We're super proud of her and this couldn't have happened to a better kid."
In Sullivan's junior season, she finished with 18 goals and it would be her last time sharing the field with longtime friend Jordan Lane who she had played with since she was seven years old. "Some people saw this as a rebuilding year after we lost Jordan," said Sullivan. "Our girls have a lot of potential and we've gotten off to a 3-1 start so I'm excited to see what the rest of the season holds for us."
When Madison Sullivan gets to N.C. Wesleyan, she plans on continuing to work with athletes as an Exercise Science major. Even though in a couple of months, Sullivan's Spring Creek career will be over, she plans on impacting the Spring Creek community for some time. Sullivan says she wants to return to Spring Creek after she graduates and become an athletic trainer at the school to impact the kids from her hometown.
"I'm excited about my future at Wesleyan, they're very family oriented and I had an overnight visit there and all the girls were super sweet so I'm going to enjoy it here, but I can't wait to get started," said Sullivan.
Madison Sullivan has a younger sister named Peyton coming up to the high school next year and if Sullivan becomes the all-time leading scorer in school history, she wants to have her jersey retired and hopes to have her sister one day surpass her goal record.
Congratulations to Madison Sullivan for signing with N.C. Wesleyan College to hopefully become the all-time goal scoring leader in a Bishop uniform.
