Representatives of several churches gathered to help me celebrate 18 years of community service on Sunday, Oct. 13 with special guest Bishop Richard W. Johnson and the St. Peters Church of Christ choir, usher and congregation of Smithfield leading the service.

Faith Hope UH Church, 2258 Dixon Farm Road, Hookerton will host a fall revival at 7 nightly Wednesday through Friday, with Pastor James Bizzell of Mount Pleasant in Snow Hill officiating Wednesday night; Pastor Edna Hall of Chara Ministries Deliverance Center of LaGrange on Thursday; and, Pastor Joesphine Newkirk and the New Jerusalem Pentacostal UHC of Kenansville on Friday. Parkers Chapel Church, 312 Fedelon Trail, Goldsboro will continue to honor Pastor Doretha Brown’s sixth pastoral anniversary this week with the following events: Apostle Gail Speight will offer the message on Wednesday; Pastor Curtis Artis will lead the service Thursday; Apostle Aaron McNair Sr. will render the service on Friday; and, Pastor Rosemary Thompson will lead the service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. The Parker Chapel Church family invites you to come and help celebrate. First Congregation Church, 215 Sleepy Creek Road, Dudley will hold revival services at 7:30 nightly Wednesday through Friday with the revivalist preacher Elder Donald Graham and the Sampson Chapel Church of Christ Choir rendering the service on Friday night. The church will celebrate its homecoming at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 with the Pastor Rev. Robert Cox Jr. set to deliver the message and music by Brother Tony Edmondson. Dinner will be served. The church family invites you to come and fellowship. Higher Power Deliverance Ministries will present a revival service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at The Sleep Inn Hotel in Mount Olive. The pastor is Elder Clifford Southerland and the revival will feature revivalist preacher Apostle Leroy Hargett of Life Changing Kingdom Ministry of Clayton. St. Luke Church of Christ, 636 Waller Road, will celebrate its usher anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 with guest preacher Elder Beulah Pickett and the Burning Bush UHC choir, usher and congregation of Faison set to render the service. All ushers are invited. Greater Guiding Star UHC, 1114 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro will hold the Golden Years Gospelfest at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 with Minister Cassandra Best, The Atkinson Sisters, The Kingdom Builders, Genial Taylor, the GGS Male Chorus, Nu Men Of Faith and CB and GCP. The fest is sponsored by the senior citizen ministry. Everyone is invited to come and fellowship. St. Luke Church of Christ, 636 Waller Road, will host an 11 a.m. worship service with pastor Elder Kenneth Freeman delivering the message and the New Beginning Gospel choir providing the music on Sunday, Oct. 20. Breazeale Ave., will celebrate its choir and musician’s anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 featuring special guests, The Faison Family of Turkey, One Accord, the First Baptist choir of Calypso, the Family and Praise Gospel Choir of Newton Grove, the Goshen Male Chorus of Faison, Nu Men of Faith of Goldsboro and soloist Jesse Wallace. President Minister Carolyn Ward along with Elder Ernest Watson Sr. invite you to come fellowship and show love. Gospel Light UH Church, 442 E. Hillsboro St., will celebrate the 31st pastoral anniversary of District Elder Dwight Morrisey at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 with guest preacher Elder Ralph Love Jr. and the St. James UH Church choir, usher and congregation of Stantonburg leading the service. At 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 an Anniversary Tea will be held with guest preacher Elder Scottie Rodgers of Holy Temple UH Church of Calypso. On Sunday, Oct. 27 at 11:15 a.m. Elder Tyrone Owens and the St. Paul UH Church choir, usher and congregation of Maple Hill will render the service. Dinner will be served. To climax the celebration, Bishop Ralph Love Sr. and the Holy Trinity UH Church choir and congregation of Greenville will offer a service at 4 p.m. Happy 31st anniversary to District Elder Dwight Morrisey. Gospel Light Church invites you to worship with its congregation every first, second, third and fourth Sunday at 11:15 a.m. with Bible studies and prayer meetings held each Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Sunday school before each worship service at 9:45 a.m. St. Delight UHC, 693 Suttontown Road, will present a banquet honoring Lady Lenora Gardener at 5 p.m. Oct. 26, featuring special guest and evangelist Dr. Ernestine McGee of Wilson.
