Winn Chapel to celebrate homecoming

Winn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 110 S. Center St., Mount Olive, will celebrate its 139th homecoming and anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. Guests will be Elder Anthony L. Ezzell, pastor, and the choir of First Baptist Church in Calypso. Pastor is the Rev. Samuel Johnson. Evelyne B. Bowden is chairperson.

Fall fundraiser Nov. 2

Thunderswamp Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mount Olive will be having its annual fall fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 2. Barbecue chicken or barbecue pork will be served for $8 per plate. Serving of the food will be between 3 p.m.-6:30 p.m. There will also be a live auction at 7 p.m. There will be a quilt raffle also.

‘One Love for All’ Sunday

Outlaw’s Bridge Universalist Church, 4408 N.C. Highway 111 N., Seven Springs will host “One Love for All,” a sermon by the Rev. Charlie Davis at 11 a.m. Sunday. Davis is set to use music to help describe the Unitarian Universalism in ways that others might understand. The church will also host a live music concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, featuring Jimmy Merritt and a mystery guest.
