Revival starts Wednesday

Revival will be held at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 3414 Summerlins Crossroad Road, Mount Olive beginning Wednesday night, Aug. 21-23. Guest ministers for the week are: Wednesday night- Elder Donald Graham and the Sampson Chapel Church of Clinton on Wednesday; Rev. Braxton Frederick and the Hines Chapel FWB Church of Warsaw on Thursday; and the Rev. Michael McDougald and Mount Gilead M.B. Church of Mount Olive on Friday. Services begin at 7:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.

‘White fragility’ sermon Sunday

Outlaw’s Bridge Universalist Church, 4408 N.C. Highway 111 N., Seven Springs, will host a sermon by the Rev. Claudia M. Frost entitled “White Fragility - What is it?” In his book, “White Fragility,” author Robin Diangelo questions, “Why is it so hard for white people to talk about racism?” That topic frames the church’s Sunday sermon at 11 a.m.

Homecoming Sunday

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church’s quarterly and homecoming service will be observed at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at 3414 Summerlins Crossroad Road. The sermon will be delivered by the pastor, Rev. James A. Davis. The Saint Luke Church choir will provide the music. The public is invited to attend.
