As the sounds of volleyballs echo through the gym during summer workouts, excitement is already building around Spring Creek High School as the Gators prepare for the 2026–2027 season. While a new chapter begins for the program, the face leading it is one that players and the community know well.
Cassidy Davis has officially taken over as head coach of the Spring Creek volleyball program after serving as an assistant coach last season. Having already built relationships with the players and gained a firsthand understanding of the program’s culture, Davis steps into her new role with enthusiasm and confidence.
“I am very excited and looking forward to this new opportunity,” Davis said.
That excitement is shared throughout the program as the Gators continue their offseason work, determined to establish a strong foundation for the season ahead.
Developing a Young Team Into Contenders
Although Davis is entering her first season as head coach, she inherits a roster filled with familiar faces. Last year’s squad featured a young core that gained valuable varsity experience, and that group now returns older, more confident, and ready to take another step forward.
Rather than focusing solely on wins and losses, Davis has centered her first season around player development.
“Our goal is to get the girls prepared by working on their mechanics and making sure they understand the fundamentals of the game,” she said.
Her philosophy reflects a long-term vision, one built on fundamentals, discipline, and steady improvement. Those building blocks, Davis believes, will allow the Gators to compete every time they step onto the court.
Prepared for the Swine Valley Challenge
The upcoming season marks the second year of competition in the 2A/3A Swine Valley Conference following realignment, a league that has quickly established itself as one of the area’s most competitive.
Davis understands the challenge that lies ahead but welcomes the opportunity.
“We are one year into this new 2A/3A Swine Valley Conference realignment, and it’s a very good, competitive conference,” Coach Davis said. “We hope to stack up with the best, no matter the outcome.”
That mindset has already become a point of emphasis during offseason practices as the Gators strive to compete with confidence against every opponent on their schedule.
Veteran Leadership Sets the Tone
One of Spring Creek’s biggest strengths entering the season is its returning experience.
Senior leaders Idalee Reyes, Alaina Pratt, and Keity Torres will be counted on to lead both on and off the court. Their experience and leadership provide stability for a team that continues to develop, while also serving as role models for the younger players entering the program.
As practices continue throughout the summer, Davis expects those veterans to help establish the competitive culture she hopes will define Spring Creek volleyball.
Lessons That Extend Beyond Volleyball
Behind Coach Davis’s coaching philosophy is a support system that has shaped her journey. She credits her family and friends for encouraging her every step of the way, while giving special recognition to her grandfather.
The lessons he taught her to work hard, enjoy the game, and appreciate every opportunity remain at the heart of the program she hopes to build.
Those values are evident in the positive environment Davis is creating, one where effort, accountability, and enjoyment go hand in hand.

As anticipation grows for opening day, Davis hopes the Spring Creek community will pack the stands and become an important part of the team’s journey.
“We’re excited to see everyone come out, support us, and cheer us on,” Davis said. “We’ll also have several spirit nights to encourage our fans to get involved.”
With a familiar coach at the helm, an experienced group of returning players, and a commitment to building a strong foundation for the future, Spring Creek volleyball enters the 2026–2027 season with renewed optimism.
The wins and losses will ultimately be decided on the court, but the culture is already taking shape. Under Cassidy Davis, the Gators are embracing a new era, one built on fundamentals, hard work, and the belief that every practice is another step toward becoming the best version of themselves.
