Southern Wayne Lady Saints shine despite draw against Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO — The matchup between the Southern Wayne Lady Saints and the Goldsboro Lady Cougars opened with immediate intensity, as the Lady Cougars came out pressing hard against the Saints’ defense. An early corner kick from No. 6 Solangel Pantoja gave Goldsboro a chance to strike first, but they were unable to convert.

The Lady Saints came close to extending their lead when No. 8 Lolani Oates fired a shot that narrowly missed crossing the line.

As the half progressed, both teams battled for control. Southern Wayne had multiple opportunities but struggled to convert, with miscommunication and missed chances preventing them from adding to their score.
