Leading off, No. 9 Ava Jones for the Lady Tigers sent a powerful hit toward right field, but the Lady Cougars responded with an impressive catch by No. 2 Emma Bass. Undeterred, the Lady Tigers continued to apply pressure. No. 2 Jovie Hall followed with a solid base hit to reach first base, and No. 13 Jourdan Joe advanced the momentum by reaching second base before being tagged out.
The breakthrough came when No. 8 Shylah Sloan delivered a huge hit, bringing No. 13 Jourdan Joe home while advancing to second. Moments later, No. 5 Sadie Casteen crushed a key hit that drove in three more runners. By the end of the inning, the Lady Tigers had surged ahead with five runs.
Cougars Look to Respond, Tigers Stay Sharp

After the game, I spoke with Head Coach Brian Casteen about the big win. Coach Casteen said, “We started hot in the beginning, and throughout the game, we didn’t let up.” He also added, “We are so proud of this team’s growth. We are a young team, but we are in a good place. We’ve been playing very strongly.” Coach Casteen credited the team’s fast start to its senior leadership, noting that they do a great job of motivating the team.
