DUDLEY — A late-evening thunderstorm accompanied by dangerous lightning postponed the Goldsboro-Southern Wayne football game Friday evening.

A make-up date has not been announced.

David Lee, athletics director at Southern Wayne, said he needed permission from county administrators to play the game either Saturday or Monday.

“It could be a Tuesday night game,” Lee added.

The cross-county rivals each enter the contest with 0-1 worksheets.

Southern Wayne has won the last three meetings, but Goldsboro holds a 10-9 edge in the series since 2004.
