SEVEN SPRINGS — Spring Creek completed its regular-season, non-conference sweep over Union 25-15, 25-18, 11-25, 25-20 on the volleyball court Wednesday evening.

Statistics were not provided for the Gators.

Senior Tijaya Goodman paced the Spartans with 10 kills and posted a .333 hitting percentage with just two errors.

Union had 24 kills as a team.

The Gators (3-4 overall) return home today to face American Leadership Academy of Johnston County. First serve is 4 p.m.

Bulldogs take Saints

DUDLEY — Southern Wayne claimed the opening set, but annual volleyball powerhouse Princeton prevailed 20-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-14 on Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Taylor Holmes pounded out 20 kills for the Bulldogs, who completed their regular-season sweep of the Saints. Caroline Waller supplied 11 kills.

Princeton collected 41 kills and served 15 aces as a team. The Bulldogs improved to an impressive 78-16 against Wayne County opposition since 2007.

The Saints didn’t provide any stats.

Southern Wayne (2-3 overall) travels to Quad County 3A foe West Johnston today.
