Eastern Wayne stunned Southern Wayne, 25-24, on the varsity girls’ basketball scene Friday evening.

The Saints saw their regular-season win streak end at 26.

Jamaiya Bass just missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. Fron-tcourt mate Ta’Niyah Glaspie scratched out six points.

The county rivals were tied 18-18 after three quarters.

Southern Wayne (4-2 overall) begins defense of its Quad County 3A title at home Tuesday against East Wake. The JV girls tip off at 3:45 p.m.
