CALYPSO — Erik Rosas recorded 11 strikeouts during North Duplin’s 10-0, mercy-rule triumph over county rival James Kenan.

The Rebels repeated as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Crossover Invitational champion.

Rosas (6-1) retired nine of the first 11 batters he faced on eight strikeouts and a flyout to right fielder Wesley Holmes. The Tigers’ Will Sutton doubled in the first inning and Hayden McGee singled in the third inning.

James Kenan (6-7 overall) stranded four runners with one in scoring position.

Rosas threw 67 pitches.

North Duplin scored five second-inning runs on four hits, two walks, a wild pitch and an error. Brady Byrd and Tyler Johnsey each stole a base.

Holmes emerged as the Rebels’ offensive leader with a single, double, triple and career-high six RBI.

Hunt Pate (RBI), Richard Noble, Tanner Kornegay (RBI) and Johnsey supplied one hit apiece.

North Duplin (14-2 overall) puts an eight-game win streak on the line Apr. 18 at Carolina 1A rival Lakewood. Game time is 6 p.m
