SMITHFIELD — North Duplin remains unbeaten on the Carolina 1A Conference baseball scene heading into spring break.

Erik Rosas turned in a dominating, 14-strikeout performance on the mound during a 12-1, mercy-rule thrashing of Neuse Charter on the Smithfield Community Park diamond Thursday evening.

Rosas threw 61 strikes during his 86-pitch outing.

Austin Duff and Richard Noble each slugged a home run for the Rebels, who extended their win streak to six games. Duff ended the day 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Noble finished 1-for-5 with two RBI.

Freshman Garris Warren pounded out three hits and plated one run.

Lead-off man Hunt Pate and Esteban Santos Clark (three RBI) supplied two hits apiece.

Branden Reyna stole two bases. Pate and Tanner Kornegay each swiped one bag.

North Duplin (12-2, 5-0) returns home Monday for its second annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Crossover tournament. James Kenan faces Goldsboro at 4 p.m., while the Rebels take on Faith Christian Academy.
