Mr. Gordon Thornton, 81, of Faison, NC, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Thornton Sessoms; his step-father, Fleet Roosevelt Sessoms; his wife, Glenna Martin Thornton; and two brothers, John Delton “J.D.” Sessoms and William “Cootie” Sessoms.
Mr. Thornton is survived by his children, Shelley Stephens (Danny) of Lumberton, NC and Douglas Thornton (Marcie) of Bellevue, NE, and his grandchildren, Gage, Andrew (Christina), Mya, and Glenna Danielle.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 1, at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1818 N. McCullen Road, Faison, NC.
