Find a place of humbleness; let go and let God

in

When it comes to being humble, James 4:10 (ESV) says, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”

Colossians 3:12 (NIV) states, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

James 4:10 is promising that God will honor and elevate those who truly humble themselves, it is a call to abandon self-exaltation and submit to God. How many times have you erupted about a situation or behind a problem that was truly out of your hands, especially when you could have checked your heart posture in that instance and remained humbled, allowing for the outcome to instead be a compassionate and gentle outcome. Too many times, I have heard people grumble and complain about being overwhelmed, doubtful, full of fear, having no faith, and just wanting to give up. I am here to tell you, I was once just like these folks, but God turned me around. He saved me. I found salvation, and through His son Jesus Christ, I learned how to let go and let God. I learned how to cast all my fears and burdens to Him. You can do the same, just relinquish whatever you’re feeling and going through, all to God, because He will supply all your needs.

It’s relevant to depend on God rather than your own self-will and trust Him to provide honor. It’s a sin to think, speak, or feel anything negatively because these are of the devil, these are dark thoughts, and not of God. Colossians 3:12 is instructing believers to actively “clothe” themselves with virtues such as compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, because this reflects their new identity as God’s chosen, holy, and loved people. You must walk in the new you of Christ Jesus and shred your old ways, of course you aren’t going to dot every (i) or cross every (t) but every day you should strive to be a better Christian than the day before. Find that place of humbleness to forgive others that have wronged and hurt you, walk by faith and not by sight, stop trusting in just the things you can see and trust more in those things you have yet to see, that doubt, shake it off, it has no place in your mind or heart, so guard your heart, live out your new nature as Christians through daily positive actions that mirror Christs’ character and contrast with your own, old, sinful behaviors.

Let go and let God today. Because yes, whatever you’re praying for, hoping for, it is already done in Jesus’ name. Just believe it. Trust God for it. Keep the faith. Close off your ears to the naysayers and the negative talkers that come to steal, kill, and destroy you of your peace and peace of mind, of your faith, of your beliefs. They want you doubtful. They want you stressed out and depressed. Be mindful because these are not your friends. The devil is busy, but God is busier. He will supply all your needs. Remember, Mathew (KJV) 7:7-8 says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” So, just find a place of humbleness for yourselves, in doing so, you will become aligned with God’s nature, you can better combat your pride, and foster a direct, dependent relationship with Him. Spiritual growth folks enable humility and allow for the reception of grace, modeling Christlike service, and ensuring that God, not you, are Glorified. Until next time folks, stay safe and stay blessed!
