Lately, you have been finding yourself grumbling, complaining, having no get up and go about yourself, blaming everyone and everything for your pitfalls, and you are just simply tired of what’s been dubbed the norm for you, and a “time looper” of repeated stagnation. Stagnation can affect one’s career, personal growth, walk with Christ, the economy, relationships, how you view the world and yourself, and it will leave you in a stuck state or experiencing a lack of development and progress.

I remember that any time I was faced with trials and tribulations or was battling Spiritual Warfare, depending on the cause(s) of why I was in that place, I found myself many times with feelings of unease and uncomfortableness, which would then develop into fear, putting me in a place of stagnation, uncertainty, depression, and unfulfillment, but I didn’t know who to turn to for help, I didn’t know how to get up and move or do something about my situation, I didn’t know that a change needed to happen and take place, I most definitely forgot about the God I served who sat up high and looked down low. I complained to this person, that person, I complained to whomever would listen to me about my problems, and they offered and gave prayers, suggestions, help, yet I waylaid them all to continue stewing in my own stagnation. Today, there is someone reading this right now and you are very much in the same boat as I was, but guess what, if I overcame it, so can you. You may be telling yourself, “I have nothing, no one cares about me, or asking, “How will I ever amount to anything?”

The Bible clearly warns us that there are negative consequences to stagnation and complaining. It reveals a lack of trust in God and His plan for us, opening doors to destructive influences. Philippians 2:14-16 (NKJV) states, “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”

This scripture encourages us to live without arguing and complaining, to be innocent and blameless children of God, and to shine as lights in the world. Complaining is truly a sin that displease God and can have many negative consequences. While the Bible acknowledges that complaining is a natural response for us as humans pertaining to difficulty, it also shows we aren’t trusting God to carry us. About stagnation, 2 Corinthians 13:5 of the (NIV) says to, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? Why continue in having a hardened heart and being separate from God? If you can grow spiritually, it’s a start and it will certainly help.

Stop, get up, pursue God’s will for your life. Find courage, it’s right there within you. God is your source of strength; He’s your shelter in times of storms and He’s your Rock of Salvation. You can do anything you set your mind to. If you want to pursue that career, do so. If you want to go back to school and get that degree, do so. If you want to move to another city/state, do so. Whatever you have been wanting to do but have been too afraid to do as of late and have been letting fear and doubt persuade you out of doing it, it’s time to shake that off and stop being stagnant, stop complaining. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. Take back your power and remember who you are in Christ Jesus. The world can’t give it to you, nor can the world take it from you. You can only keep your own self from having the best of both worlds, which is God and living in and how what makes you happy. Don’t you want to thrive and strive and not just get by? I know I do, and I am. I refuse to let anyone dictate my life. I got up and grabbed it by the horns a long time ago and I owe it all to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Until next time folks!
