Carver Elementary second grade students participated in an outdoor STEAM event entitled “STEAM: Let’s Go Outside” March 28.

The purpose of this activity was to provide a hands-on experience for second-grade students. The idea came from Robin Casey after attending a training on the topic in October 2024 at NCCAT.

Students participated in the following STEAM related stations:

  • Cloud identification
  • Bird watching
  • Bee keeping
  • Plant life
  • SideWalk Chalk
  • Make a SunDial

Following the experience, students were asked to write about their experiences in their “explorer journal” or draw a mural at the sidewalk chalk station.
