The Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition, Inc., in conjunction with the Wayne County Museum are hosting a Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Celebration.
This event will take place Saturday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at the Wayne County Museum in Goldsboro.
In 2012, President Barak Obama issued a proclamation making March 29 Vietnam Veterans Day. As part of this honor, the coalition and museum want to bridge the gap and make sure Vietnam veterans understand the community is grateful for the sacrifices each veteran made.
During Saturday’s event, the reading of the POW/MIA names from North Carolina and a military honors’ ceremony will be held. Light refreshments will follow.
The Wayne County Museum is located at 116 N William St., Goldsboro.
