An 18-week Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program will get under way this Thursday at the Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall,1224 Red Hill Road.
The program, being offered through Duplin County Services for the Aged, is for Duplin County residents aged 60 and older.
It is a low-impact physical activity program proven to reduce pain and decrease stiffness.
The sessions include gentle range of motion exercises that are suitable for every fitness level and ability.
Exercises are led by a trained program leader, these enjoyable and motivational classes may be taken either standing or sitting in a chair.
Nutrition education is provided before each workout session.
The exercise program will help you:
• Keep joints flexible and muscles strong.
• Increase energy.
• Improve your well being.
• Sleep better.

Class size is limited to available space and you must call to register for the class.
More instructions will be provided once you registers for class.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own individual weights.
During the 18-week program, nine of the classes will be held on Mondays at 11 a.m. and nine of the classes will be held on Thursdays at 11 a.m.
The sessions will be held Thursday, Jan. 5; Monday, Jan. 9; Thursday, Jan. 19; Monday, Jan. 23; Thursday, Feb. 2; Monday, Feb. 6; Thursday, Feb. 16; Monday, Feb. 20; Thursday, March 2; Monday, March 6; Thursday, March 16; Monday, March 20; Thursday, March 30; Monday, April 3; Monday, April 10; Monday, April 17; Thursday, April 27; Thursday, May 4.
