La GRANGE — Heather Alexander recorded a double-double during Spring Creek’s season-opening, 46-38 loss Monday evening at North Lenoir.
The senior center logged 12 points and 10 rebounds. She shot 6 of 8 from the floor and blocked two shots.
Kiarah Pearson paced the Gators’ offense with 19 points, including an 11 of 13 effort at the free throw line.
SC shot 11 of 22 (50 percent) from the floor as a team, but couldn’t overcome 56 turnovers forced by the Hawks.
The Gators’ home opener Friday against Rosewood has been rescheduled due to the NC High School Athletic Association playoffs. Spring Creek welcomes North Lenoir to “The Swamp” next Tuesday.
Tip-off is 6 p.m.
