DUDLEY — Southern Wayne scored in its seventh consecutive outing Wednesday evening, but victories continue to remain elusive on the soccer pitch this season.

Smithfield-Selma pounded the net for five second-half goals and departed the Doyle Whitfield Athletic Complex with a 6-2 conquest over the Saints.

“It’s been an unfortunate year so, especially with all the work we have put in,” SW head coach Luis Ramirez said.

Ivan Alvarado scored off an assist from Angel Ramirez. Maneese Remedor delivered an unassisted goal.

SW goalie Daniel Diaz recorded five saves between the pipes.

The Saints (4-13-1 overall) dropped to 2-7-1 on the Quad County 3A scene. They fell to 0-7-1 in their last eight outings heading into today’s road contest at QCC member West Johnston.
