Local volleyball teams in the mountolivetribune.com coverage area begin their respective quests for 2024 conference tournament championships Monday evening.

North Duplin will play host to the six-team, Carolina 1A tournament. The third-seeded Rebels face sixth-seeded Lakewood at 5 p.m. The other quarterfinal-round game pits fourth-seeded Hobbton against fifth-seeded Union.

Rosewood emerged as the outright Carolina champ and earned the No. 1 seed. Neuse Charter is the No. 2 seed. Both teams received byes into the semifinals.

Directed by second-year head coach Chad Kirby, Spring Creek is seeded fourth in the six-team, Neuse Six 2A tournament. The Gators take on fifth-seeded Beddingfield at 4:30 p.m. inside Norvell T. Lee Gym on the Goldsboro High campus.

Princeton captured the Neuse Six 2A regular-season crown, while county rival North Johnston finished second. Each team received byes into the semifinals.

Southern Wayne and East Wake finished tied for seventh in Quad County 3A play. However, the Saints drew the No. 7 seed based on a higher RPI and travels to West Johnston. First serve is 6 p.m.

South Johnston secured the QCC title.

All three conference champions clinched automatic bids to the NC High School Athletic Association playoffs.
