GOLDSBORO — Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge has announced the application deadline for the Artist Support Grant, a crucial initiative created to provide direct support to individual artists during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant is designed to help professional artists enhance their skills, improve their business operations, and expand their capacity to reach new audiences, ensuring that the arts continue to thrive within local communities.

The Artist Support Grant is available to North Carolina residents who have lived in eastern North Carolina for at least one year, specifically in the counties of Edgecombe, Greene, Nash, Pitt, Wayne, and Wilson. Eligible artists include musicians, dancers, filmmakers, actors, literary artists, and visual artists. The average grant award ranges from $500 to $1,000, providing meaningful support to artists in their creative endeavors.

“This grant is an important step towards ensuring that artists can continue to create and share their work with their communities, now and in the future,” said Anna Hinson, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Wayne County. “I would love to see more Wayne County artists apply for this grant.”

The deadline for applications is Saturday, Oct. 5. For more information and to apply, visit www.emergegallery.com/artists/grants/artists-support-grants.
