GOLDSBORO — The Arts Council of Wayne County announces the return of the partnership between the PNC Foundation, who is sponsoring the Wayne County Jazz Showcase once again. The first jazz performance of the year is Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Ernest Turner, whose illustrious career includes collaborations with John Legend. Ernest will be joined by a stellar ensemble of musicians, including saxophonist Stephen Riley, who has performed with renowned artists such as Harry Connick Jr. and Norah Jones.
This special performance will take place on Aug. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at 139 W. Walnut St. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets will be available for a cost at the door. Complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
The PNC Foundation, which first sponsored the Wayne County Jazz Showcase in 2014, continues its generous support this year. As a result of their funding of $7,500, the Arts Council of Wayne County is able to guarantee 3-4 renowned jazz performances in the upcoming fiscal year, including this highly anticipated event with Ernest Turner. The PNC Foundation’s commitment to the arts has played a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding the showcase, ensuring that high-quality jazz performances remain accessible to the Wayne County community.
