LAKE WACCAMAW — Four North Duplin players turned in double-figure scoring efforts during a season-ending, 63-51 loss Friday evening at East Columbus.

Malia Graham pumped in 13 fourth-quarter points and scratched for 33 overall to help lead the Gators (23-1 overall) advance to round three of the NC High School Athletic Association Class 1A girls’ basketball playoffs.

EC avenged a second-round postseason road defeat Calypso two years ago.

In her final prep outing, North Duplin senior Reece Outlaw filled the stat sheet with 14 points, six steals and five rebounds. Fellow senior Meghan Martin collected one rebound and three steals.

Point guard Addy Higginbotham tallied 13 points – all in the second half. The junior also recorded two rebounds, four steals and five assists.

Sophomore forward Lilly Fulghum provided a double-double — 13 points, 11 rebounds. Tateyawna Faison logged 10 points, five rebounds and five blocked shots.

Abigeal Brown added two points and two rebounds.

North Duplin converted 13 of 22 free throws and committed 23 turnovers. The Rebels concluded the year 18-8 overall.
