NEWTON GROVE — Abigail Norris snared a career-high 14 rebounds and tallied eight points Thursday evening during North Duplin’s 61-21 shellacking of Carolina 1A rival Hobbton.

It was the regular-season finale for both teams.

The playoff-bound Rebels claimed their seventh consecutive conquest of the hapless Wildcats and 13th overall in their last 23 meetings.

Addy Higginbotham supplied 12 points, doled out four assists and picked Hobbton for four steals. Backcourt mate Reece Outlaw provided 10 points and six steals.

Tateyawna Faison contributed 12 points and five rebounds. Marissa Bernal chipped in a career-high five points, while Lilly Fulghum recorded four points and three rebounds.

Meghan Martin (two rebounds), senior Valaja Wallace, M’chelle Jaco, Piper Creekmore, Lilliana White and Kloe De-Hoyos logged two points apiece in the scorebook.

North Duplin led 24-0 after one quarter and registered 22 steals as a team.

The Rebels (15-7 overall, 8-2 Carolina 1A) picked up their sixth road win of the season. The league runners-up to Union, they begin defense of their conference tournament title at home next week.
