SEVEN SPRINGS — There’s no place like home.

Kam McDaniel pumped in 15 points as Spring Creek remained unbeaten in “The Swamp” with a come-from-behind, 52-47 triumph over Hobbton on Wednesday evening.

Brennan Chambers added 11 for the Gators, who rose to 5-0 in home outings this season. Nathan Jackson collected nine points, while Jackson Rose chipped in eight.

Justin Raiford tallied seven points.

Spring Creek (6-6 overall) launches its Neuse Six 2A Conference campaign at home Friday against Eastern Wayne. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.

Williams paces SC girls

SEVEN SPRINGS — Emily Williams led four players in double figures with 13 points during Spring Creek’s 65-13, dismantling of former Carolina 1A girls’ basketball foe Hobbton on Wednesday evening.

Williams picked the Wildcats for four steals, dished out two assists and grabbed two rebounds.

Trinity Daniels provided 11 points, nine rebounds, six steals, five assists and two blocked shots. Aaliyah Kornegay supplied 11 points, snared seven rebounds and blocked two shots. Sophomore guard Kiarah Pearson contributed 10 points and eight steals.

Vanessa Duruttya notched seven point.. Heather Alexander recorded seven points and nine rebounds. Sarah Kirby provided six points, seven steals and five rebounds.

The Gators snapped a six-game skid and claimed their seventh consecutive victory over the winless Wildcats.

Spring Creek (5-7 overall) begins Neuse Six 2A Conference play at home Friday against Eastern Wayne. Tip-off is 6 p.m. in “The Swamp.”
