CAMP LEJEUNE — North Duplin had a first-quarter shutout defensively and dominated Lejeune, 68-28, in their non-conference girls’ basketball affair Wednesday evening.

Junior point guard Addy Higginbotham stuffed her stat sheet with 17 points, seven assists, seven steals and two rebounds. Backcourt mate Reece Outlaw contributed 16 points and four assists.

Center Tateyawna Faison pumped in a team- and game-high 19 points, pulled down five rebounds and picked the Devilpups for five steals. Lilly Fulghum provided four assists, two steals and four rebounds.

Senior forward Meghan Martin collected six rebounds, three points and two assists. Tristyn Blast scratched for four points.

The Rebels recorded 18 assists on 25 made field goals as a team.

North Duplin led 16-0 after one quarter, and broke open the game with a 29-point, third-quarter uprising. The Rebels extended their win streak to eight over the Devilpups, who lead the series 14-10 since 2007.

Now 3-0, North Duplin returns home Friday for a non-conference outing against Bear Grass Charter. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
