GOLDSBORO — Tuesday, House Majority Leader John Bell, R-Wayne, officially filed for re-election to House District 10, which encompasses northern and central Wayne County.

According to a press release about his filing, Bell has been an advocate for the region. Most recently, he secured over $60 million for Wayne County in the state budget for local schools, colleges, fire departments, economic development, and water and sewer infrastructure upgrades.

“With my family by my side, I am excited to file for re-election to continue serving the people of Wayne County,” said Bell. “It has been an honor to serve our community and be their voice in Raleigh. I look forward to once again earning their trust and being a strong leader for our region and state.”

Bell is currently serving his sixth term in House. In 2016, he was elected by his colleagues to be House Majority Leader. He lives in the Rosewood community with his wife, Kelli Gurley Bell, and daughter, Averi.
