GOLDSBORO — House Majority Leader John Bell (R-Wayne) today announced his intent to file for re-election for House District 10. Candidate filing begins at noon on Monday, Dec. 4, and ends at noon Friday, Dec. 15.
As the House Majority Leader, a release noted that Bell has been a strong and effective advocate for the region. Most recently, he secured over $60 million in the state budget for Wayne County, which included critical funding to support local schools, colleges, fire departments, economic development, and water and sewer infrastructure upgrades.
“With the support of my family, I’m excited to announce my plans to seek re-election for House District 10 to continue representing the people of Wayne County,” said Bell in that statement. “It is truly an honor and privilege to serve our community in the legislature, and I look forward to once again earning their vote of confidence and support at the ballot box.”
Bell is currently serving his sixth term in House. In 2016, he was elected by his colleagues to be House Majority Leader. He lives in the Rosewood community with his wife, Kelli Gurley Bell, and daughter, Averi.
