SEVEN SPRINGS — North Lenoir rallied from a one-goal, halftime deficit and eliminated Spring Creek, 3-2, on the Class 2A scene.
Marin Lopez-Perez and Gustabo Vargas-Fajardo each scored on an assist from senior Ozias Miteu for the Gators.
Joseph Vasquez and Edgar Avila-Anguiano combined for three saves between the pipes.
The Gators concluded the year 14-9-1 overall.
North Lenoir (11-9-0) is the second-round guest of Heide Trask on Thursday.
Rebels eliminated
TRENTON — Jones Senior collected the game-winning goal in the second overtime and knocked out North Duplin, 3-2, from the 1A playoffs.
The Rebels forced the extra 10-minute sessions on Crismy Gonzalez-Vazquez’s second-half goal off Daniel Velasquez Lopez’s assist.
The two seniors hooked up for a first-half goal.
Oliver Pfyl scored twice and doled out an assist for Jones Senior, while freshman Kevin Sanchez-Valdez recorded one goal.
North Duplin finished the year 4-12-2, including a 4-3-2 worksheet in outcomes decided by two goals or less this season.
Bulldogs bite Tigers
