I don’t know about you, but I am ready for fall! Cooler weather means I get to put on sweaters and take cool, leisurely walks around the neighborhood with my dog. It means more time working in the yard, getting ready for winter. It also means I’m more interested in turning on my oven and cooking for me and my family.
This year I have something new to look forward to: Steele Memorial Library is throwing a Fall Festival at the George Fulghum Community Garden at the corner of Southerland and Pollock in Mount Olive. We will have several outdoor games to play; stories and face painting for our younger friends; and fun photo opportunities. Plus we’re partnering with several local businesses: Southern Ground Coffee Shop, Twists ‘n’ Turns Pretzel Co., and Foxquarter Lemonade – who will be selling their products on site. And of course, the main event – apple picking!
We are so grateful for our Mount Olive community, and we hope this event will show you just that.
The Fall Festival will be on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.Please call us at 919-299-8105, ext. 2 to register, and as always, check out our website, wcpl.org, for more details about events happening at all of the Wayne County Public Library branches.
