North Duplin is headed to Raleigh.

The fourth-seeded Rebels and Union Academy will square off for the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1A softball state title at Dail Softball Stadium on the N.C. State campus.

The best-of-three series begins Friday at 7 p.m.

Game two is Saturday at 11 a.m.

A third game, if necessary, will be played immediately after game two.

North Duplin (23-3) claimed the 2015 state crown over Hiwassee Dam. In 1989, the Rebels were runners-up to Murphy in the state 1A slow-pitch championship series.

Union Academy (24-4) is making its first-ever trip to the finals.
