Hebrews Chapter 3:4, in the NIV, says, “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.”

I do not know about you, but when I read and meditate upon this verse, it tells me that God is the builder of our faith, salvation, trust, courage, challenges, guidance and victory in Christ Jesus. This scripture is meant to empower us. God has given us His son Jesus Christ who is, according to the book of Hebrews, superior to all other prophets and claims to all other truths. We ought to listen to what Christ says, since God has given Him to us, and not move backwards once we have been redeemed. Sure, we fall short of God’s glory daily, but truthfully, He made a way for forgiveness to be sought through His son Jesus, and that is with repentance. We should not revert to our old ways, if we can help it, knowing that the consequences of ignoring God can truly be dire.

God, being the builder of everything, would not want us, as Christians, to doubt His promises, because when we doubt His promises, we risk missing out on the many victories He has in mind for us. Houses do not spring up of their own accord. Someone built every house that exists, but God is whom built “all things,” therefore, to Him, goes the greatest honor. Our Christian life must be managed carefully since it is a sacred trust from God. Jesus and Moses were both faithful in what they did. Moses, who as a servant, was faithful in his responsibilities, and the Son, Jesus Christ, simply held the position of more glory because He was the Son of God, and being this, with such status, He carried more weight than that of a servant. God was the owner of the house, but Moses was part of the house, and being part of the house, he led the Jews out of slavery in Egypt and led them to the Holy Land that God had promised them. He was following the guidance and orders that God dispensed.

For us, we are just God’s faithful stewards and do not own the house, our lives are not our own, though yes, our flesh may go weak at times, and we war within ourselves in trying to stay true to God and His commandments or choosing to continuously live in sin, but God’s view of things concerning our stewardship is very important because anything we do in His son Jesus’ name, He expects us to maintain our purposes for Him, for example, helping in bringing souls to Him, being obedient to Him and His word, providing guidance to those who are, as we once were, lost. God has given us many different gifts to execute His plans. And being the believers that we are folks, we must manage God’s house in faith, obedience, salvation, courage, trust, and challenges, because He cares for us. His “house” is a spiritual house. So, when God dispenses to us His promises and commandments while we are managing His house, we must, like Moses, always remember that at the forefront we are His soldiers and He is our Father, our God that, in all things, prepares us for the journey that lays ahead, to do His bidding, His will, and successfully, I might add. Moses was not allowed to see the Promised Land, even after all his blessings, because he broke faith with God in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because he also did not uphold God’s holiness among the Israelites. Moses was allowed to see the land only but not enter it. God stayed true to His promise about this fact.

Every family must have a founder; every house a builder: every dispensation an author. Therefore, someone must be over all dispensations, the new and the old-the Christian and the Jewish. Until next time folks, stay prayed up, stay blessed and stay safe!!
