An infielder each of the previous two seasons, Alexander has moved behind the dish this spring. Through four games, she’s batting .400 with three extra-base hits and three RBI. She’s recorded more than 30 putouts with pitchers Emily Williams and Sarah Kirby inside the circle.
Gators head coach Chad Kirby said, “Heather is very competitive, eager to win, hard on herself with emotions of a young lady. She has stepped up this year and had to take on a new role behind the plate. Learning new techniques, plays, position … she has taken this on and is giving it her very best. Heather is very coachable. I can’t wait to see her progress and what the future holds.”
