A leader by example to his younger teammates, Artis has emerged as a formidable force for James Kenan on the hardwood this season. Competing in one of eastern North Carolina’s physically-challenging conferences, he averages eight points and eight rebounds per game. His point output has remained the same against East Central 2A opposition, but his rebound average has increased to nine.
Tigers head coach Taylor Jones said, “Kel is an outstanding young man, our captain and has anchored the middle of our offense and defense all year. He works hard, is respected by his peers and is extremely hungry for success. He is is more than a big man for us. He is an outstanding basketball player who often times we run our offense through [him]. His ability to pass and make great decisions is exceptional. I am proud of his growth.”
