Name: Omar Soler-Sanchez

A natural grappler with a competitive edge, Soler-Sanchez missed nearly two-thirds of the season. He returned in January and claimed the 106-pound crown during the 2024 Quad County 3A individual wrestling championships. Soler-Sanchez carries a 7-1 record into the NC High School Athletic Association eastern regionals.

Saints head coach Tori King said, “Getting Omar back [after semester break] was a huge boost to the team. His presence in the [wrestling] room brings the intensity up at practice and takes everybody up a level. He is a natural leader and is very competitive. He often gets on his teammates if he seems them slacking and that’s rare in such a young athlete. He is eager to learn and catches on to new techniques quickly. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. The sky is the limit.”
