A multi-sport athlete, Rivers ranks fourth in scoring (11.0 points) and third in rebounding (9.7 rebounds), according to East Central 2A stats posted on MaxPreps.com. The 5-foot-10 guard also hands out 2.5 assists, picks opponents for 2.7 steals and blocks two shots per outing.
Tigers head coach Kenny Williams said, “Y’anni has come in as a freshman and played incredibly well. She is a tremendous athlete and hard worker. Even though she is already a great player, she is just beginning to tap into her full potential. As she continues to grow into her body and develop her complete game, she is going to be fun to watch over the next few years. Above all of the things on the court, she’s even more impressive off the court – both in the classroom and the community. [She] fully embodies what a real student-athlete should be.”
