A multi-sport athlete with a competitive edge, Higginbotham has been ringing up the numbers this season. The point guard averages close to 16 points a game and isn’t afraid to attack the basket. She emerged as the team leader in free throw attempts last season and is on the same pace this winter. The major difference is Higginbotham’s FT percentage has improved significantly from a year ago.
Rebels head coach John Oliver said, “She’s taking part in the leadership role more than she has in previous years and on the court is an extension of what we’re trying to do. She’s done a good job, and has helped take some of the [scoring] weight off Reece [Outlaw], which has made her job on the court much easier.”
